A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING (LOU) SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN NATIONAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND MAAN EDUCATION AND HEALTH DEVELOPMENT
The National Education Foundation (NEF) and Maan Education and Health Development (MEHD) have signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) to strengthen education for children from marginalised and vulnerable communities. The partnership brings together several interconnected areas that shape a child's ability to learn: school infrastructure, WASH, child protection and safety, learning resources, community engagement, disaster preparedness, and support for vulnerable children. Working in the non-formal and community education space has reinforced that access alone is not enough a child may reach a school, but retention and meaningful learning depend on the environment around them, including safety, basic facilities, community engagement, and protection. This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening not just educational access, but the broader ecosystem that makes learning possible. With NEF's community-based education network and MEHD's commitment to social development, the partnership holds meaningful potential to translate into interventions that respond to realities on the ground building safer schools, stronger communities, and better opportunities for children who are too often left behind.
