NEF and MEHD Partnership Marks First Milestone with School Bags Distribution
Putting intent into action, the partnership between the National Education Foundation (NEF) and Maan Education and Health Development (MEHD) marked its first on-ground milestone with a targeted distribution drive across three NEF Community Model Schools. Teams delivered practical support directly into the hands of students, distributing 100 school bags equipped with notebooks and complete stationery sets to ensure children have the fundamental tools needed to learn with confidence. For families in marginalised and vulnerable communities, the cost of basic supplies often creates an unspoken, recurring barrier to consistent schooling. Providing these essential learning kits does more than lighten a household's financial load it restores dignity, builds student morale, and gives young learners a genuine sense of pride and belonging in their classrooms. A child who arrives equipped is a child who feels prepared to participate, stay engaged, and return tomorrow. More broadly, this initiative represents a critical shift from policy commitments to visible, community-level accountability. Demonstrating direct impact inside the classroom earns the trust of local educators and parents, laying a solid foundation for the deeper interventions envisioned in the Letter of Understanding spanning child protection, improved WASH facilities, disaster preparedness, and safer physical spaces. By addressing immediate classroom necessities from day one, NEF and MEHD have taken a grounded, meaningful first stride toward building an educational ecosystem where every child is not just enrolled, but truly supported to thrive.
