PSDP Project: Grant for Sustainability of Community Schools established by NEF
PSDP Project: Establishment of 60 Community Schools in FATA, FANA, AJK & ICT
Period: 2002-2005

Achievements:

Establishment of 60 Community Schools in FATA, FANA, AJK & ICT
  Enrollment (2221 Boys, 1480 Girls, total 3701)
  Employment of 124 teachers
PSDP Project: Establishment of 350 Community Schools in FATA with the assistance of Royal Norwegian Govt.
Period: 2003-2004 (extended 2005 to Dec 2007)
Achievements : Established 200 schools in 2003 and 150 schools in 2004 in all seven agencies of FATA
  Enrollment (13963 boys, 11643 girls, total 25606)
  711 employed teachers
PSDP Project: Strengthening of NEF and Implementing Innovative Schemes
Period

2002-2005 (Phase-II 2005-06)

Achievements : The program was initiated under Education Sector Reforms 2002 for a period of 04 years from 2002-2006
  1) Endowment Fund of 83 schools was created for their future sustainability, based on each school savings and equal matching grant by NEF
  2) Establishment of 04 Resource Centers in ICT, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA & AJK, besides 03 Regional Offices were also established in AJK, GB and FATA  Operational cost of 235 schools in FATA, GB, AJK, ICT, KPK and Punjab
Foreign Funded Project: 1) .Enhancing Participation in Education Through Innovative Schemes For The Excluded & Vulnerable
  2) (Funded by Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) through World Bank)
Period November 2004 to Dec 2007 (JSDF funded) and January 2008 to June 2011 (PSDP Funded)

Achievements

 

The project is the lynching pin in struggle for universal primary education and retaining of drop out ratio from schools through direct financial assistance to the poor households. In this project, more than 8000 out of schools students were enrolled in selected Union Councils and Tehsils of ICT, Punjab and FATA with financial assistance of Rs. 600 per student per quarter were distributed to these enrolled students for their retention in schools.

Achievements

 

Under this program 100 private schools working on non-profit basis have been provided a set of 29 books on the topics of Ideology of Pakistan, Mathematics and Science. Total cost of this program amounts to One Million Rupees

Government Funded Program: Financial Assistance to Private Educational Institutions in Pakistan (Grant in Aid Program)
Period 2002 to 2010

Achievements

Under this program funds are provided to non-profit private educational institutions, since 2001 to date total amount of Rs. 42.90 Million have been disbursed to 298 schools.

Research & Development

NEF is undertaking research collaboration with University in each province for the topic “Causes of dropout in our schools”. Final reports from Sindh, Gomal and Balochistan Universities have been received. However, report from University of Lahore is in process.  Total program cost was Rs. 02 Million.
